Hey, it's Cami! This is my first blog post ever! I'll catch everyone up on our lives.
Chris: He will be graduating with his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in December. He currently works at Mountain Crest Cabinet, he loves it. He will be taking the LSAT (for law school) in 9 DAYS, he is nervous but excited to get it over with. After he gets his LSAT score back, he will start the application process and will (hopefully) get all of his applications in by Thanksgiving. Here are the schools that he likes right now.
- University of Georgia
- University of Florida
- University of Alabama
- University of North Carolina
The University of Utah is always an option, too, of course. But we both like the idea of moving away. Many people have told us that it's the best thing that a newly wed couple can do...
"You can't just run home to Mama when you guys get in a fight".
We also looked at the University of Maine (random...I know) the other day. It is in the CUTEST little town (Portland, Maine...check it out). So for now the options are wide open, we'll be able to narrow it down when we find out his LSAT score. Anyway, Chris is really into politics right now. He does not agree with the way our government is being run. He believes that the government should have less say in our lives. Chris has been going to a physical therapist/chiropractor for his neck and back. He likes it a lot and thinks that it's really helping...maybe he's just saying that because he gets a professional massage twice a week haha!
Cami: I am also in my final semester at UVU, for now I'll only have an Associate's Degree, I will work while Chris is in law school (sugar mama??). We made this decision the first night we talked about getting married because I knew it wasn't a possibility for both of us to go to school. I only have 3 classes: Anthropology, Math 1050, and Applied Parenting. I LOVE my Anthropology class, my teacher is AMAZING. She is so passionate about the subject and it's contagious. Math on the other hand...I'm struggling with. My teacher sounds like Buster from Arrested Development...he acts like him too. Eww. Chris and I have Applied Parenting together, it's dumb. Our teacher's name is Thor...he is in a motorcycle gang...has a long ponytail...and a bunch of tats...not quite sure if I want this guy teaching me how to parent my future children. You'd think that with the amount of tuition we're paying we could get some decent teachers...is that too much to ask?
I work full time at Rescue Alert, saving grandmas all day long. I'm training for the Halloween Half Marathon. I ran it last year and told myself "NEVER AGAIN" but...what do ya know, I'm doing it again. I really like running but lately I have had plantar fasciitis, which makes your foot feel like it's on fire. Pretty frustrating. I have 30 days until the big 13 miles, so I hope it magically starts getting better. Tyler, CJ, Cole, and Ma are all running it with me! Go team Park!
Us: We have officially made it past the half way point of our long engagement! We only have 117 days left until our wedding! The reason we waited so long was because of school and money. We'll both be finished with school and working full time by the time the big day comes! 2 days ago we booked our plane tickets to Mexico for our 7 day honeymoon!
Utah in January: 15 degrees
Mexico in January: 75 degrees
Last Saturday we had our engagement pictures taken by Vanessa Millecam, she is amazing. Our first location was at an abandoned home in Pleasant Grove, it was way cool. When we were trying to leave, a crazy lady blocked the road and called the cops. She said that we were trespassing on her grandma's property and that we stole things from the house. First of all: there was not a "No trespassing" sign. Second of all: there were at least 8 other photograhers there, it wasn't an uncommon photography spot. Third of all: it was the most ghetto house ever, if anyone DID steal from it, it was clearly garbage, hence they did the crazy lady a favor. The cops came and they were definitely on our side, they kind of just laughed it off. Our second location was at an apple orchard. It went great until Vanessa lost her keys in the long grass. SHOOT! We looked forever but couldn't find them. We ended up taking Vanessa to her brother's house, he had a spare key. I felt so bad. We are doing our groomals on the same day that Chris takes the LSAT (October 9th). We are doing them at La Caille, it is gorgeous there. I can't wait, it will be a long day for poor Christopher. LSAT and pictures, he will definitely deserve a present.
One last thing for today. Last week we saw Wall Street, we both really liked it. It was pretty slow and long, but it was enjoyable. The week before, we saw Easy A, if you haven't seen it, GO RIGHT NOW! It was hilarious. Chris thought it was going to be a sucky chick-flick, no, not at all. We will be buying it the day it comes to DVD.
Thanks for reading about our busy lives. XO.
